Why teams look for an outside engineering partner

  • Hiring locally takes too long

Opening a role, interviewing, onboarding and waiting for the new hire to ramp up can eat a quarter before a single feature ships, and the roadmap does not wait.

  • Offshore means overnight feedback loops

With a team twelve hours away, a question asked in the afternoon gets answered the next morning. A small misunderstanding can cost days before anyone notices it.

  • Freelancers do not cover the whole job

One contractor can write the code, but product design, cloud infrastructure, testing and support still land on your desk, and continuity depends on one person.

Why Ecuador

Ecuador uses the US dollar as its currency, so the price in your contract is the price on every invoice, with no exchange-rate swings to explain to finance.

Mainland Ecuador runs on UTC-5 all year and never changes its clocks. That puts our team on US Eastern time through the winter and on Central time through the summer, so our workday overlaps with almost all of the US Eastern and Central workday and with most of Mountain and Pacific.

We work remotely with companies in the US, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and anywhere else. The process is the same wherever you are: video calls, shared tools and deliveries you can try yourself.

How contracts and payments work

We start with a discovery session and send a written proposal split into phases, each with its deliverables and timeline. Once you approve it, the terms go into a contract and the work is invoiced in US dollars. The specific payment schedule and terms for your project are set in that contract.

Once the project is paid in full, the source code and design are yours, with no licenses tied to Adelmi. If you later bring the product in-house or hand it to another vendor, nothing stops you.

An honest comparison with hiring in the US

An in-house team gives you people who are fully dedicated to your company and who build up context over years. If you need that and can hire for it, it is often the right call.

An outside partner makes more sense when you need to ship a defined product soon, when you need several skills at once (design, backend, mobile, cloud, AI) that would mean several hires, or when you want to validate an idea before committing to permanent headcount. Instead of recruiting, payroll and benefits, you pay for a scoped piece of work with clear deliverables.

We would rather tell you which option fits than sell you the wrong one. If what you really need is a full-time employee, we will say so during discovery.

How a project with us runs

Before we quote the build, you click through your system in a prototype. After that, you see progress every week. No surprises.

  1. We learn your business

Discovery meetings to understand your business and the features you need, before we propose anything.

    You get:
A requirements document with the agreed scope.
    Typical time:
    1–2 weeks
  2. Clickable prototype

Click through your system's screens and validate every flow before any code is written.

    You get:
A clickable prototype to share with your team.
    Typical time:
    1–2 weeks
  3. Quote with options

A phased proposal with alternatives, so you choose the scope and budget that fit.

    You get:
A detailed phased quote, with discovery and the prototype deducted.
    Typical time:
    2–3 days after prototype approval
  4. Phased development

We build in phases and show you working software at the end of each one.

    You get:
A demo per phase, a short weekly update and a test environment to watch your system take shape.
    Typical time:
    Set in the quote
  5. Testing

We test every flow, and your team signs off before anything goes live.

    You get:
A release ready for your approval.
    Typical time:
    Set in the quote
  6. Launch and handover

We launch your system or app, train your team and hand over every account.

    You get:
Servers, app store listings and domains in your name; the code and design are yours once paid in full.
    Typical time:
    Set in the quote
  7. Warranty and support

Every project comes with a 60-day warranty. After that, you choose how we continue.

    You get:
Free fixes during the warranty, then a monthly plan or hourly support.
    Typical time:
    60-day warranty, then ongoing

Frequently asked questions

How do contracts and payments work with a US company?

Every engagement is backed by a written contract based on a phased proposal, and invoices are issued in US dollars. The payment schedule for your project is agreed in that contract.

What time zone are you in?

Ecuador is on UTC-5 all year, with no daylight saving time. That matches US Eastern time in the winter and US Central time in the summer.

Do your engineers speak English?

We can work in English or Spanish: calls, documentation and code reviews can all happen in English.

How do you protect our IP and data?

Once the project is paid in full, the source code and design are yours, with no licenses tied to Adelmi; third-party libraries keep their own licenses. Confidentiality and ownership terms are written into the contract. You decide which of your systems and data we can access.

Can we meet in person?

Most of our work is remote. Our team works from Quito, so in-person meetings there are possible on request; everywhere else we work through video calls and screen-shared demos.
